1. Compression Variance & Approximation
The target file size functionality on Image Resizer & Compressor (resizeimage.iloveresult.com) operates on an approximate target model. Digital image compression is governed by the underlying mathematical entropy of pixel structures, color variations, noise levels, and browser-specific canvas encoder implementations.
We do not fabricate or artificially round reported file sizes. The output byte size shown in the results panel represents the genuine, un-faked binary measurement of the generated Blob. An exact target byte count (e.g., exactly 102,400 bytes for a 100 KB target) cannot be guaranteed across all types of visual data.
2. Image Quality & Visual Fidelity
Applying aggressive compression levels or converting formats will unavoidably modify image data. Lossy formats (JPEG and WebP) discard redundant high-frequency details. It is the user's responsibility to verify the visual clarity of the previewed image before using the output for official submissions or production deployments.
3. Extreme Target KB Requests
When an extremely small target file size is requested (e.g., 10 KB or 20 KB on a multi-megapixel photo), quality compression alone will reach its lowest possible threshold without satisfying the constraint. In such scenarios, resolution downscaling (via the "Automatically reduce dimensions if needed" option) or selecting a higher target size is required.
4. User Responsibility & File Ownership
Users maintain sole responsibility for any images processed using this utility. We do not inspect or filter uploaded images, and we make no claims of ownership over your processed assets.
5. No Guarantees on Third-Party Portal Acceptance
While our tool is specifically crafted to help users conform to portal upload specifications (such as passport photos, job applications, government registries, and web optimization benchmarks), we cannot guarantee that an external third-party portal will accept your uploaded file due to varying external validation rules beyond our control.
